Synappro, founded by Jenny Halsied, offers accessible, science‑based wellness apps for everyone.

Synappro is a story of how through battling mental health issues and personal frustration with the wellness app market, one entrepreneur decided to take matters into their own hands. She is creating an accessible wellness digital space to help people like her.

What sparked your idea?

In January 2024, shortly after completing an MSc, Jenny found herself unemployed, struggling with her mental health, and disappointed with effectiveness and ethics of available wellness apps.

“I really needed good products to support my wellbeing, and not products that prioritised the stakeholders first. I felt the market was broken, so I decided to build what I needed myself.”

Synappro’s core values became clear from the start – accessibility, scientific integrity, and data security.

How the Allia Impact programme helped you and what was the biggest impact?

Jenny never planned to start a business.

She had a nearly finished product, but no idea of how to structure and bring it to reality.

“Suddenly I had this idea, but no clue what to do next. Allia Impact’s programme in Tower Hamlets worked through every barrier. It was the perfect support at the perfect time.”

While the programme provided the guidance on forming a legal company, help with business planning, funding to cover the initial set up costs, a community of first-time founders, and a safe space to ask questions, Jenny emphasises one thing as ‘life-changing’:

“Confidence. That’s the biggest thing I gained. Realising I wasn’t behind – I actually had a real product. That changed everything.”

At synappro, we know wellness should be for everyone. Our core values are accessibility, in terms of pricing and design, scientific integrity and data security. And it’s not to make me rich, it’s to get people better mental health
