Tech for Impact – Opportunities for organisations

Find emerging tech talent that fits your organisation

Access students and graduates with skills in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and digital transformation through a new initiative from Cogs AI and Allia Impact.
We will help mission-led organisations define genuine technology needs, develop suitable opportunities and connect with emerging talent based on skills, strengths and working environment, not just CV keywords.

Build your organisation’s technology capability

Many charities, social enterprises and community organisations recognise the potential of new technology but do not have the time, specialist knowledge or recruitment networks needed to make progress.
This initiative will connect mission-led organisations with university students and recent graduates looking for paid opportunities in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and digital transformation.
You do not need to have an existing technical role fully defined. Allia Impact and Cogs AI will work with you to understand your priorities and identify where emerging tech talent could make a practical difference.

How tech talent could support your organisation

Depending on your needs, a student or graduate could help you:
• Identify responsible ways to use AI
• Automate repetitive administrative processes
• Improve data collection, management or reporting
• Review cybersecurity risks and current practices
• Strengthen internal digital systems
• Explore new technology-enabled services
• Develop practical plans for longer-term digital transformation
Any role or project must offer genuine, paid employment and meaningful professional experience.

What your organisation will gain

• Access to emerging talent: Connect with students and graduates interested in purpose-led technology careers.
• Support defining your needs: Turn an organisational challenge into a realistic role or project.
• More meaningful matching: Find candidates based on skills, strengths, working preferences and alignment with your mission.
• An inclusive recruitment process: Reach capable candidates who may be overlooked by conventional CV-led recruitment.
• Onboarding support: Receive guidance as your selected candidate joins the organisation.
• Longer-term capability: Bring new skills and perspectives into your team while developing your approach to technology.

About the partnership

This initiative is delivered by Cogs AI in partnership with Allia Impact, with support from Innovate UK.
Cogs AI will provide the inclusive matching platform and methodology. Allia Impact will work with mission-led organisations to identify their technology needs, shape suitable opportunities and support engagement throughout the project.

How it works

1. Register your organisation
Tell us about your organisation, its mission and the technology challenges you are facing.
2. Define the opportunity
We will help you identify a suitable AI, cybersecurity or digital transformation role or project.
3. Create your organisation profile
You will be directed to the Cogs AI platform to describe the opportunity, your team, management approach, working environment and what you can offer.
4. Meet suitable candidates
The platform will identify students and graduates whose technical skills, strengths and working preferences align with your opportunity.
5. Recruit and onboard
You will make the final recruitment decision, with support available during onboarding and the candidate’s first months in the role.

Who can take part?

This initiative is intended for mission-led organisations, including:
• Social enterprises
• Charities
• Voluntary and community organisations
• Purpose-led businesses
• Other organisations delivering clear social or community impact

Your organisation should:
• Be based in London, Cambridgeshire or Peterborough
• Have an identifiable need relating to AI, cybersecurity or digital transformation
• Be able to offer a genuine paid role or project placement
• Provide appropriate management and support
• Be willing to use the Cogs AI platform as part of the matching process
• Commit to an inclusive and fair recruitment experience
You do not need an established technology team or previous experience recruiting for technical positions.

What kind of opportunity can we offer?

The initiative is designed to support paid roles and project placements. These could include permanent roles, fixed-term positions or substantial paid projects.

Examples could include:
• AI transformation assistant
• Junior data analyst
• Cybersecurity assistant
• Digital systems coordinator
• Technology support officer
• AI implementation project officer
• Data and automation assistant

The final responsibilities should reflect a genuine organisational need while remaining suitable for someone beginning their technology career.

Costs

Registering your interest and discussing your organisation’s requirements does not commit you to recruiting.
Under the proposed model, a placement fee equivalent to 5% of the successful candidate’s salary or contract value will apply when an appointment is made. Full commercial terms will be confirmed before your organisation publishes an opportunity or meets candidates.

Why the matching process is different

Conventional recruitment often focuses heavily on previous job titles, CV keywords and interview performance. This can overlook candidates who have strong technical potential but limited professional experience.

The Cogs AI platform considers four areas:
• Technical skills and qualifications
• Cognitive strengths and ways of thinking
• Working environment and support needs
• Personal goals and connection with your organisation’s mission

This gives both the candidate and employer a clearer picture of whether the opportunity is likely to be a good fit.
The process is neuroinclusive by design but works for everyone. Candidates do not need to disclose a diagnosis or identify as neurodivergent to participate.
